Penguin Eggs is sponsoring a Young Performer of the Year Award – a new category established for the Canadian Folk Music Awards

YOUNG PERFORMER OF THE YEAR
Open to anyone 19 and under on or before September 1, 2006. There is no minimum age limit. Open to a solo performer or a band as long as all members meet the age requirement. Open to all categories outlined by the Canadian Folk Music Award's committee. All submissions must include either a commercial CD or a three-track demo' recorded on a disc. All submissions must adhere to the bylaws and submission requirements outlined by the Canadian Folk Music Awards committee. All nominees will be announced on November 1. The winner(s) will be announced December 10, 2006, at the Myer Horowitz Theater in Edmonton

Submission Requirements:
-completed application form
-6 copies of the recording.
-$40 submission fee
-1 photo of artist
-1 brief bio of artist (150-200 words)

All submissions must be received by the CFMA by 5:00 pm Friday September 1, 2006.
